2nd in-person workshop @EGOS2023 in Cagliari, Italy

After the success of last year’s first in-person ‘CCO Data Collective workshop’, this summer saw the Data Collective hold its first EGOS event. The Pre-Colloquium Development Workshop ‘Analyzing and Theorizing Raw Qualitative Data as a Collective’ attracted over 35 EGOSians from across the globe to the historic setting of The University of Cagliari. Familiar and new faces from communicative, performative, and critical communities came together to collectively tease out what they could see, hear, feel, sense, and experience as interesting, exciting, or puzzling within presenters’ data.

Three data submissions were presented from a spectrum of settings, starting with university management meeting transcripts, then videos of a platform cooperative movement forum, and finally, blog posts and comments around climate change. Thank you to Alex Wright, Eleonora Grassi, and Merja Porttikivi for sharing their data and to all present for the constructively rich dialogue and debate that ensued.

We hope to see many of the new faces from the PDW at forthcoming online CCO Data Collective workshop sessions, so please ‘watch this space’ for further details about plans for Autumn 2023 and beyond…
