Organizing for a shitstorm on a discussion forum

In our fifth CCO virtual data session, we welcomed Aleksander Groth, PhD-student at Management Center Innsbruck.

Aleks shared with us his data on a firestorm organized by a gamer community, as a reaction to the announcement of a mobile game (Diablo Immortal) at their core-community convention Blizzcon 2018, in Anaheim US. The data has been pulled from a player discussion board on Reddit and includes posts and comments surrounding this event. In the session, we focused in particular on the communicative formation/organization of these players on Reddit, and how that led them to kick off a shitstorm against the game developer.
